Rob opened and chaired the meeting. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
- noted his new role as Assistant Deputy Area Commissioner (ADAC) for Program: Troop Section
- as agreed at last NWSC meeting, RM is pursuing possible organization of an All Sections Club
- RM has grouped NW Area Troops into five geographical districts and is currently seeking five service Scouters to be designated for each district, preferably Scouters who are not currently active section leaders
- RM is also investigating a calendar to be put on the NWSC web site where each group may upload their activity dates and special events (e.g. camps). It will serve as a planning tool and opportunity for sections to hold joint events.
- Rob will circulate the agenda.
- Time will be 9:30 a.m. Â 3:00 p.m.
- Times will be in accordance with the planning document already on the NWSC web page.
- We should encourage Troops with youth in the Saturday program to camp over on Friday night. A first opportunity for an outing.
- A Scout Campfire separate from the Club campfire.
- This is a great opportunity for new leaders as well.
- We still need volunteers for the sessions. See the program when circulated.
- Will have a Scouters Club Pot Luck and Campfire on Friday, September 25 at Camp Mohawk.
- Gate open at 17:30
- Will follow our general pattern with meal starting before 18:30 followed by campfire around 19:00. End time when things wind down.
This will be an in-town hike, ending at Camp Mohawk.
- Tentatively November 13-15 or 20-22.
- Rob will contact Dan Sheppard to see about booking Camp Heidelberg facility again.
- Liam will take lead on the program.
- Ted, Rob and Kirsten will attend. Likely Pierre Michiels also.
- Owen Sound Winter Camp will be January 29-31.
- Winter Hike: Planning deferred.
- Spring Camporee May 28-30, 2010
- March Break 2010 to New York City, camping on Staten Island Scout Camp. Contact Liam for information if your group would like to participate. Fee last year was $230.
