Siege of Mafeking

The group discussed the construction of the Fort. Jamie will look about more rope. Ted will obtain a roll of twine. Also needed are balloons for the water balloons. Ted will bring flour for the "Siege of Mafeking". The trebuchet will be used as Big Bertha.

Zip line: Ted will contact Kevin Donovan about the cadet group that has the portable zip line setup. Jamie felt that he could construct one if he could see the actual set up.

Other

• Cake Contest: Pierre Michiels wrote the criteria. There are 25 points for each of: theme, creativity, decoration, and presentation.
• Campfire: Ted will organize a chart for filling in the places. A campfire chief will be found at camp, perhaps an older scout should.
• Cindy Elliott will lead the Scouts Own.
• Ken Arnett will run the tuck shop.
• Ted has obtained the keeper plaque for the Wheeler Shield
• Ken Coyle showed us the Camporee badge, bill to Ted to pay from camporee funds on hand. Jamie Leggott was sure the 1st Freeport would take the Wheeler Shield. Ted moved "that 1st Freeport be excluded from the competition". No Seconder; Motion Moot.

There is a new Scouter at 11th Kitchener Scouts: Andrew (Andy) Bowman. He will be at the Camporee.

Saturday, September 29 was chosen for the Introduction to Scouting Day. This will be organized at the next meeting, in August.

The fall hike will be an in-town hike from Chicopee to Camp Mohawk. There will be a potluck dinner and camping at Camp Mohawk on the Saturday night. Ken suggested having a Scouters' evening at the same time.

The discussed the annual winter camporee. 11th Kitchener and 43rd Kitchener will be going.

CJ'07

It would appear that 9th Waterloo is the only North Waterloo troop going.

WJ'07

It would appear that 1st Lexington is the only local group going. 1st Elmira is taking a trip to the UK plus and will have a day visit to the WJ'07.

The meeting was adjourned at 20:40. The next meeting will be in the later part of August.
